Three Amateur couples put it out for the crowd and Dance to Live's Paula and Latin Energy's Vanesa the two judges for the evening. The couples are: long time person on the scene Irena and her partner Kurt; Milo and Karmelo, and Karen and Kunam[sic].
Four professional couples put it out there Tuesday night: long time performer and instructor Bong & Irina; Albert J. Gomez and Lauren; Olga & Yared; the globetrotting Gustavo & Madeline. All of the professional couples danced to the same song, selected by competition organizer Steps Dance Studio's Jennifer Aucoin.
Two amateur couples and three professional couples advance to the semi-final round. The Amateur couples from Round 4 are: Irena & Kurt; Milo & Karmelo. Professional couples from Round 4 are: Bong & Irina; Olga & Yared; Albert J. Gomez & Lauren.
SYTYCD-Canada's Celebrity Judge, ace ballroom dancer and choreographer Jean-Marc Genereaux is on the judging panel for the finals!

Acrobat made their venue available - for free. The DJs are playing music - for free. All of the prizes from Toronto's Salsa Schools and more were donated - for free. Luis Mario Ochoa, a bandleader, a professor at the Humber School of Music with 2 CDs to his credit and who plays with Juno winner Hilario Duran donated his set - for free!
SalsaTO.ca time and cell phone bill, printing costs are - free. He is not being paid. Nor is SalsaTO.ca paying himself out of this event. *All* the money that will be taken at the door, the tickets for draws and the fun tickets for games goes to the Canadian Red Cross. Dance & Donate is registered with the Canadian Red Cross. And all attendees will be asked to provide information for tax receipts that will be issued by the Canadian Red Cross. This is selflessness and altruism in action.
And, the SalsaTO.ca website running expenses - URL name rental, ISP hosting costs - come entirely out of Mike's pocket... little if any revenue offsets these costs. SalsaTO.ca is --- a free service.

Results from the 3rd Canada Salsa Congress competition and 1st Amateur Canada Salsa Cogress Competition held Thursday 8 October 2009 at the Sheraton Centre.
Amateur Competition results: First place is Toronto's Steven & Jena with a score of 83.33; Second place is Montreal's Irene & Jacques with a score of 80.0; Third place is Toronto's Gil & Michelle with a score of 77.75. And, congrats Gil and Michelle on their upcoming wedding!
Professional Competition results. First place and the runner-up have a buy and Denise Hernendez of Moreno Travel covered air fare into the semi-final round at the 4th World Salsa Congress Championships in Florida December 2009. Six couples competed. First place is Montreal's Corrine & Joseph with a score of 86.15. Second place is Puerto Rico's Edwin & Greysa with a score of 86.05.
Mexico's Ernesto & Marita, Mo & Alice; Montreal's Victor & Katia; Kassandra & Ricardo also competed and put on very competitive performances that reflected a lot of work, time spent in the studio and passion.
